MY ARTISTIC APPROACH
My paintings resemble photographic images, and the textures I employ are akin to the grain found in the black-and-white photographs I used to develop in my darkroom. Naturally, I incorporate color, though it is often subtle and nuanced. I work with the theme of houses because they are simple forms to position within a space; the textures serve to limit detail, allowing me to focus on the space — the emptiness — that sometimes fills the canvas.
